fire mafia podcast

I have a big announcement today. This is something that I’ve been meaning to do for a long time now.

I started a video podcast together with my friend Giorgio, a millionaire living in Switzerland, who you may know from his blog Retire in Progress.

In case you’re hearing about him for the first time, he’s a 43-year old software engineer who previously worked at Google. With a net worth of over 1,2 million euros he not only has a lot more experience investing compared to me, but he also has valuable insights on how to increase your chances of getting high paying jobs, for example at companies like Google.

I think that is a very interesting topic that is rarely talked about in the finance and financial independence space.

It also doesn’t hurt that he’s one of the funniest people that I know and originally Italian like me, which is why we decided to call the channel FIRE Mafia. Just in case you don’t know, FIRE stands for Financial Independence Retire Early.

Each episode will be between 30-60 minutes long. Once a week, Giorgio and I are going to discuss different investment topics and answer your questions.

We actually just recorded the first episode on Monday! You can watch it below.

FIRE Mafia Episode 1

PS: We’ll make sure to improve the audio & video quality next week!

Here are some of the things we talk about in the first ever episode of the FIRE Mafia:

  • How the two of us met
  • More background information about me and my lifestyle, some of which I haven’t shared on this channel so far
  • What Financial Independence means for us and how our mindset changed over the years
  • How we invest our money & what held Giorgio back from investing in P2P lending so far
  • Bitcoin
  • What we would change if we had 10x the amount of investments we have now

For now, the two of us committed to recording one episode per week for the next 3-4 weeks and to publish it every Wednesday evening at 5PM CET.

If we see that the community likes it, I think the chances are good that we will continue!

Still, that part is up to you! If you want us to keep going, make sure to subscribe to the FIRE Mafia channel, hit the like button below the videos and leave your feedback and questions in the comments below the videos. We’ll try our best to answer them every week.

That being said, don’t worry. I will continue publishing articles and videos on P2P Investing Europe on a regular basis!

Let me finish this announcement with a gigantic Thank You to every single one of you. I feel like I don’t say that often enough. I honestly could not wish for a better and more supportive community and I feel very lucky.

Have a wonderful rest of the week and don’t forget to check out the first ever episode of the FIRE Mafia!

  1. Hi Angelo,

Thanks for producing the FIRE Mafia video.
I would certainly be interested in watching future videos.

    My preferences would be to:

    – Reduce the length to something that can be watched easily in one session, as finding one hour and maintaining concentration for that time can be challenging for some (eg, me :-). I suggest a maximum of 30 mins.

    – For longer videos, state at what time in the video a topic will be discussed. This enables us to jump to the most interesting parts for each of us. After all, time is even more valuable than money.

    – At the end of the video, when it is appropriate, add a short list of takeaways.

    – I like the idea of inviting different people to contribute in your videos. Others amongst us might have something to share which would complement your information.

Looking forward to the next video.

    Cheer, Colin

    1. Hi Colin, sorry for not replying to you earlier. For some reason I thought I did 🙂

Thank you for your feedback! I took your suggestions into account and tried to implement some of them (eg. time-stamps) in the third podcast episode.

Going forward, Giorgio and I decided to record one video per month together, as that seems to work better for our schedules at the moment. For now, we’ll probably publish them on our main channels, P2P Investing Europe and Mr. Rip.
